Camera Movements

Today in class we were asked to record the new camera movements we learned.
Here are the clips I took!

This is a steadicam clip of my friend Suri typing on the computer. The camera is held still while there is still movement in the clip, making this shot a steadicam.

This clip is a pan, starting off showing the bookshelf, then slowly revealing Suri laying on the floor. The pan shot is supposed to reveal information and in this scenario, Suri is being revealed on the floor.

This clip is a tilt, showing Suri reading a book in a chair. What makes this is tilt is that it starts off by facing the floor, and slowly, the phone tilts up without actually moving the phone upwards.

This clip is a dolly shot, showing Suri reading a book and then she moves to the other side of the bookshelf. What makes this a dolly shot is that the camera follows her movements.

This clip is a zoom of my friend reading a book as she feels a hand on her shoulder. The camera zooms in when she turns her head slightly.

This clip is a reverse zoom because it's the opposite of the regular zoom shot. In this video, the beginning shows an ocean with fish, then reveals that it's a tv screen.

This clip is a handheld shot because it's purposely supposed to look like someone is recording from their hands. This video is me walking up to my friend Suri, while making the video slightly shaky to reveal that the phone is being held in my hands.

Classmates Commentary

Today in class I was asked to go two of my classmates blogs and choose 3 photos from each to comment on.

These are the photos I chose from my friend Suri's blog!

Suri's Blog

1.

This picture is an establishing shot that shows us the Hollywood hills high school library. I like how this picture was taken horizontally because it gives us a better view than if it were to be taken vertically. You can see the full room from the ceiling, and the floor. Additionally, the library looks very neat and taken care of.

2.

Here is a wide shot where me and my friends are discussing the work for the class. In this picture you can see how well we work with one another in order to get our assignments done.

3.

This is a POV shot that shows what something looks like in my point of view. I like how nicely this photo is taken because it shows both my hands in the frame, indicating someone else had taken the photo in order to make it look like the photo is in my perspective.

Here is my friend Veronica's blog!

1.

This image is a close up shot, showing one of my classmates reading a book. I like how the background of the image is blurred, so that when people look at the photo, they are solely focusing on the person in the frame.

2.

This is a POV shot, where she used her glasses to show her perspective, and I loved how creative this idea was.

3.

This is a long shot that shows most of the classroom. I like this picture because it was taken in 0.5, which allows us to see more than if it were taken as a normal photo.

All About Me :)

Hello! My name is Kamryn Phonesoukseum. I am 16 years old, born on May 18th, 2009 from Cambridge Massachusetts. I am currently in 11th grade at Hollywood Hills Highschool where I've attended for 3 years.
My goal for this year is to improve on my academics and time management, especially for my every day routine.
My hobbies are writing, playing soccer, (for the school, club, and just for fun) watching shows, and spending time with my friends.
I also enjoy listening to music from kpop groups and collect their albums and posters.
In my free time I love watching shows and practicing my handwriting while creating random stories.
I am taking this class because I had heard from my friends that it was a fun course to take so I also wish to learn new things with a class I have no experience in.

Sound Art Project

Today in class, me and my friend Suri worked on a sound art project where we had to create our own scene using a minimum of 10 sounds. Four ...
